At Inspired Hearts by Kerri Wright, my work brings together years of personal artwork, continued creativity, and a commitment to making designs that carry meaning. My collection celebrates love, connection, animals, and humor through pieces that can be cheerful, sentimental, or a little mischievous. I want each design to give someone a way to express their personality, share affection, or find a little joy in everyday life.

The designs I offer begin with my own ideas and artwork. I do not purchase ready-made designs from Etsy, other artists, or online design shops to place on my products. Behind my work are the creative choices I make: the expressions, shapes, colors, composition, and details that give each piece its character. Each design reflects the care I put into developing something that feels meaningful and true to my creative vision.

My experience with Photoshop began in high school, when I first learned to use it in my yearbook class. That introduction opened the door to a lasting interest in digital artwork and the possibilities of creating on a computer. I continued learning Photoshop in college, building on the skills I had developed and discovering more ways to work with images, colors, and design.

Over the years, I have continued learning through practice, experimentation, and the work of creating and refining my own artwork. There is always another technique to explore, another feature to understand, or another detail to improve. In some ways, learning Photoshop feels like playing a favorite video game: each new skill encourages me to keep going, try another approach, and discover what I can accomplish next. That sense of curiosity makes the process enjoyable and keeps me returning to it.

At the same time, Photoshop is not easy to master. It requires patience, attention, and a willingness to work through challenges. Even after years of using it, I am still learning, and I continue to discover something new almost every day. My experience has taught me that creative growth comes through consistent effort, including the time spent correcting mistakes and trying again when a result does not match what I imagined.

My process starts with an outline. I develop the structure of the design, work through its details, and then add colors to bring it to life. I consider how the shapes, expressions, and other elements work together, making adjustments as the piece develops. Many of my earlier designs have been with me for years. They represent time spent developing my ideas and building a collection that continues to evolve as I create new work and revisit older pieces.

My work is digital art, meaning artwork created or refined using computer-based drawing and editing tools. The screen serves as my workspace, where outlines, colors, shading, and details come together. Digital art involves decisions about how a design looks, what it expresses, and how its elements work together, just as other art forms involve choices about materials, technique, and composition.

Digital art describes the medium I work in. AI assistance describes a tool I use within that process.

With the introduction of AI features built into Photoshop, I have found additional ways to enhance and refresh my existing artwork. These features help me explore richer detail, greater clarity, and a more polished appearance while working from designs I originally developed. Seeing artwork, I have kept for years take on new life has become an exciting part of my creative journey.

Learning to use these newer features also takes time and practice. The AI tools in Photoshop are not always easy to use, and their results are not always accurate or complete. They can introduce errors, change details in unintended ways, or produce something that does not fit the design I have in mind. Using them thoughtfully requires me to examine the results, recognize what needs attention, and continue working on the artwork.

I create the outline, develop the design, and add colors before using AI assistance where it is helpful. Afterward, I still review and refine the piece, correcting errors, adjusting details, and working toward the appearance I envision. Sometimes that means making several attempts or returning to an earlier stage to resolve a problem. The finished result depends on the care and judgment I bring to the process from beginning to end.

I believe in being transparent about that work. Where I use AI features, my artwork is AI-assisted. My outlines, colors, existing artwork, and creative direction provide the foundation, and I make the decisions that guide the finished result. I continue to learn how to use these tools while developing my own skills and giving each design the attention it deserves.

A meaningful part of my collection is the “I love you” hand sign, commonly known as “ILY,” along with the full “I love you” expression in American Sign Language (ASL): pointing to oneself for “I,” crossing the arms over the chest for “love,” and pointing toward the recipient for “you.” These expressions appear throughout my designs, reflecting my commitment to conveying affection and connection through visual art.

Paired with animals, seasonal themes, and playful expressions, they offer a personal and meaningful way to celebrate the bonds we share. My hope is that these designs become more than decoration, that they help someone express a feeling, give a thoughtful gift, or enjoy something that brings a smile. I want the warmth behind the artwork to carry into the everyday moments in which people wear, use, or share it.

To bring my finished designs to physical products, I work with print-on-demand production partners through Printify. I develop the artwork and choose how it appears on the products in my shop. My production partners provide the equipment and services needed for printing, manufacturing, and shipping.

Creating a design and manufacturing a product are distinct contributions. Both have value, and they do not have to be performed by the same person. I appreciate the work involved in each part of the process and the role my production partners play in bringing my artwork to customers.

Creative businesses use many different combinations of personal skill, purchased materials, technology, and professional services. Painters obtain canvases, brushes, and paints from suppliers. Woodworkers may develop their own plans or work from purchased ones. People working with 3D printing may create their own models or obtain licensed files. Product makers may print their own artwork or use designs licensed from another creator. Artists may also hire manufacturers to reproduce their work on products in bulk.

These approaches differ in meaningful ways. Purchasing materials, licensing another person’s design, and hiring a company to manufacture a finished product each serve a different purpose. Understanding a business’s creative contribution requires looking at who develops the artwork as well as who makes the physical item.

In my business, the design work comes from me, and production is handled by professional partners. This arrangement is similar to an artist having their artwork printed on products in bulk, with the practical difference that my products are made as customers order them. The production service supplies the means to manufacture the item; my artwork supplies the design it carries.

Owning printing equipment demonstrates an investment in production. The creative contribution behind a design comes from the work involved in developing it. I respect the skill, time, and effort of those who manufacture products themselves, and I believe that same respect can extend to designers who choose professional production partners. Each business owner makes decisions based on their skills, circumstances, resources, and goals.

Print on demand is a deliberate financial choice for my small business. Purchasing equipment, maintaining it, handling repairs or replacement when needed, dedicating space to production, and stocking inventory all require substantial resources. Depending on the scale of a business, a separate production space can also bring lease and utility expenses. Working with production partners allows me to direct more of my available resources toward creating artwork and developing my collection.

Having products made as they are ordered also reduces the need to invest in large quantities before knowing what customers will choose. It limits the risk of money being tied up in unsold stock and reduces the pressure to clear excess inventory through deep discounts. This approach gives me flexibility to introduce designs and grow at a manageable pace.

For me, responsible spending is part of caring for the future of my business. I want to build something that can continue developing over time, with room for new ideas, continued learning, and thoughtful improvements. Choosing production support helps me pursue that goal while keeping my attention on the creative work at the center of Inspired Hearts by Kerri Wright.

When you support my shop, you support the artwork I develop, the decisions behind each design, and the small business I am building. You also support the time I spend learning, experimenting, revising, and caring for the details that make my collection personal. My production partners help turn that work into something you can wear, use, display, or give to someone you care about.

Inspired Hearts by Kerri Wright reflects both my creative history and the direction I am growing. It brings together artwork developed over the years, new designs, digital techniques, and openly acknowledged AI assistance where used. From my first experiences with Photoshop in a high school yearbook class to the tools, I continue learning today, my creative journey has been shaped by curiosity, persistence, and a love of making art.

Throughout that process, my aim remains consistent: to create expressive designs with personality, warmth, and meaning. I care about the work I share and the people who welcome it into their lives.

Thank you for appreciating the work behind my collection, supporting my continued growth, and giving my designs a place in your everyday life.
